I\'ll take Manhattan...

That\'s actually a totally misleading title because I\'ve been all over New York recently, not just Manhattan. In fact, almost everything I have to tell you takes place outside Manhattan. But I\'m listening to this song right now http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0r63K_wYu4 so you can see how I was distracted...
Anyway, the city is still resisting spring which breaks my heart but rainy New York is still New York, isn\'t it? You\'ll be pleased to know I\'ve made the most of the sunny days we\'ve had, as detailed in these fascinating pictures.
Alex is preparing to abandon me on tour in a couple of weeks so, in the style of a true boy, he\'s been on top form recently. We took in the Sakura Matsuri (or cherry blossom festival) at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, visited Coney Island an rode the Cyclone (not recommended in a skirt, FYI) hit up a Yankees game (boring) and went to the Bronx Zoo. We did not see the escaped Cobra or Peahen. I did see lots of funny signs though...
He\'s a good boy really. I mean, the cherry blossom thing was actually his idea. Personally I would have rather gone to see Thor and eat my own body weight in Wendy\'s but still. It was very romantic. Even more romantic was when he held my hair so I could throw up in a bin after riding the Cyclone. Do NOT eat hot dogs with sauerkraut immediately before riding an ancient wooden rollercoaster. Do. Not.
I\'m thinking of doing the annoying girlfriend thing and following him on tour for a couple of stops - Texas and LA are up first - and since Jenny has been AWOL for the last couple of weeks (new man on the scene...) and at least then I\'d be guaranteed some good weather.
This weekend it\'s NYC Popfest so we\'re going to be getting our gig on. Can\'t wait - The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, The Motifs, The Hairs and lots of other exciting bands beginning with \'The\'. I\'ll update you on any others I think you should check out afterwards.
Current mood: nauseous from the rollercoaster
Listening to: The Hairs http://www.ohmyrockness.com/features.cfm?articleid=1825
